This Chinese version, because that is it!, is much worse than the previous model, it drives worse and is assembled in a much more economical way. Buy the old used one, save money and have a better, much better car.
That's exactly what I did, prices for used F56 Cooper SE really dropped over the last few months and I bought a 2020 one with almost best trim level and low mileage for a good price. I dislike the interior of that new Cooper and I am also not sold about the exterior as well. Even though I am a Mini fan and would be in the market for a brand new car, I'd actually rather buy something from the competition than this new Mini.
I thought it was just the electric models that were made in China, and the petrol and diesel are still made in Oxford.
